Research Progress on the Application of Chinese Herbal Medicine in Sheep Breeding
With the increasing attention of people to green and healthy breeding,the application of Chinese herbal medicine with lower cost and higher medicinal value in sheep breeding and disease prevention and control has been paid more and more attention.As a new type of green feed additive and pharmaceutical preparation,Chinese herbal medicine contains many active ingredients such as alkaloids,polysaccharides,saponins,anthracene,volatile oils and organic acids,which can promote animal growth and improve product quality.In this paper,the application of Chinese herbal medicine in improving sheep performance,improving meat quality,improving immune function and energy metabolism,and reducing methane production was reviewed,aiming to provide reference for future research and development of Chinese herbal medicine preparations and rational and efficient application in sheep breeding.
