Discussion on the Direction of Breeding Improvement and Related Breeding Techniques of Mutton Sheep in Heilongjiang
This article elaborates on the current breed improvement and related breeding techniques of mutton sheep in Heilongjiang Province.Firstly,starting from the construction of a breeding system for high-quality mutton sheep,the urgency and necessity of establishing a sound breeding system for high-quality mutton sheep were elaborated.Then,guided by the direction of improving mutton sheep breeds with multiple lambs as the main trait,how to choose the male parent for hybrid improvement was introduced.The characteristics of eight male parent breeds,including South African mutton Merino sheep,were introduced,which can provide some reference for breeding farms.Next,we analyzed the breeding techniques that will be mainly used in the future crossbreeding and improvement of mutton sheep,which combine traditional and modern biotechnology to improve the accuracy of our selection and accelerate the breeding process.Finally,the problem of determining the number of crossbreeding generations in crossbreeding improvement work was introduced,which is crucial for maintaining excellent traits of mutton sheep and improving urgently needed production traits.In summary,the purpose of this article is to adapt the mutton sheep breeding industry in Heilongjiang Province to the current production situation and consumer demand,Promote the development of sheep farming towards high-quality and efficient direction.
