An Analysis of the Prevalence of Various Swine Diseases in a Slaughterhouse Located in Shenzhen from 2021 to 2023
The pig slaughtering and quarantine processes play a pivotal role in the pork supply chain, serving as essential means to assess the epidemic situation and ensure food safety.Enhancing the standards of slaughtering and quarantine, along with continuous monitoring of disease detection rates during these processes, are imperative. An analysis was conducted on the occurrence of swine erysipelas, porcine circovirus disease, and jaundice in a pig slaughterhouse located in Shenzhen from 2021 to 2023.The findings revealed that the monthly detection rate of swine erysipelas consistently remained below 10 cases throughout this period.Similarly, the monthly detection rate for porcine circovirus disease consistently stayed below 20 cases between 2021 and 2023.However,there was variation observed in the monthly detection rate for swine jaundice:it exceeded five cases per month both in 2021 and 2023 but dropped below five cases per month in 2022.These results provide valuable insights into the epidemiological status of these three diseases among pigs while also offering guidance for implementing effective preventive measures and quarantine protocols within slaughterhouses situated in Shenzhen.
