Nutritional Value of Kudzu and Its Application in Animal Production
Kudzu belongs to the subfamily of Fabaceae and the genus Kudzu,which is a perennial deciduous vine.Kudzu generally refers to the aboveground part of Ge,and the underground part is often called Kudzuvine root.The tender stems and leaves of kudzu vine are rich in nutrients and are an excellent source of feed.Kudzu vine is widely distributed and grows rapidly.It is feasible to use Kudzu vine to replace some alfalfa or concentrate in animal feed in animal production.This not only conforms to the national policy of Reducing and Replacing Corn and Soybean Meal in Feed,but also promotes the sustainable development of animal husbandry and helps alleviate the shortage of feed resources in some regions.This article provides an overview of kudzu vine(the aboveground part of kudzu vine)as a feed for livestock and poultry,aiming to provide some reference for further research and development of kudzu vine.
