Pathological Observation of a Case of Ascites Syndrome in Broiler Breeder
Ascites syndrome(AS)is a non communicable disease threatening rapidly growing young broiler chickens caused by multiple factors.AS severely restricts the development of broiler breeding industry.Reports of AS is rare in broiler chickens.This study focused on 37 week old Cobb 500 breeds of chickens that developed AS in a poultry farm.Dissection revealed a large amount of ascites in the abdominal cavity,obvious hypertrophy and dilation of the right ventricle.Liver were enlarged and hardened with yellow fibrous exudated on the surface.Severe blood stasis and edema could be seen in lung.Microscopic examination revealed severe pathological damage to the liver,heart,lungs,spleen,and kidneys.On this basis,an analysis of the causes of its onset was conducted.This provided new ideas for poultry farmers in disease prevention and control.
