The Effect of Scutellaria baicalensis and Astragalus membranaceus Powder Feed Additives on the Production Performance of White Feather Broilers
In this experiment,90 healthy one-day-old White Feather broilers with similar body weights were randomly divided into three groups, each with 30 replicates. The experimental period lasted 42 d.Samples were taken from the experimental animals at two time points,28 d and 42 d.The results demonstrated that adding a 0.6%mixture of Scutellaria baicalensis and Astragalus membranaceus in equal proportions significantly increased the average daily gain(P<0.05)of White Feather broilers at an early stage(28 days),significantly enhanced the thymus and spleen indices(P<0.05),and increased the intestinal and villous length(P<0.05).The slaughter results at 42 days indicated that the addition of a 0.6%mixture of these herbal components effectively improved the slaughter rate of White Feather broilers(P<0.05).The findings suggest that herbal feed additive promotes early growth in White Feather broilers and has a positive effect on slaughter performance, promoting the intestinal growth and development of broilers and improving the nutrient absorption of feed.It is recommended to add 0.6%herbal components to the feed for White Feather broilers.
