Clinical Diagnosis and Treatment of a Case of Canine Convulsions
Convulsions are manifestations of involuntary movements and are sudden transient disorders of brainstem function due to an imbalance of excitatory and inhibitory neurotransmission in the brain, which can lead to irreversible damage if not intervened in a timely manner. It is often difficult to make accurate judgements about convulsions, particularly neurological disorders of the cranial brain,on routine clinical examination. However,by using a CT scanner,a more precise diagnosis of the disease can be made. The images of the lesions are both intuitive and clear, and the time required for the test is relatively short, which greatly improves the diagnostic accuracy of doctors. This article mainly introduces the diagnosis and treatment process of a case of Yorkshire dog with sudden convulsions at night, restlessness and foaming at the mouth, and discusses the way of diagnosis and treatment plan of canine convulsions in the clinic, especially the use of CT technology and other methods, with a view to providing references for the diagnosis and treatment of canine convulsions in the clinic.
