A Review of Research Progress on Colored Medullary Hair
The presence of colored and myelinated wool fibers is one of the important factors affecting the quality of textiles, but it is not a heterogeneous fiber. There is relatively little research on their identification methods at home and abroad, and no relevant strong inspection standards have been established.Only some countries such as Australia, which have a large wool import and export trade, have some institutions that can use optical instruments to conduct guiding tests on colored myelinated wool. This article will review the research progress of colored myelinated wool at home and abroad, and provide some suggestions for improving the quality of wool raw materials and products, conducting research on colored myelinated wool identification, and formulating standards.Meanwhile, this article will also explore the impact of colored myelinated wool fibers on textile processing and analyze their challenges in actual production.Although colored and pitted wool fibers may bring unique aesthetic effects in textiles, they can also lead to quality issues in textiles, such as uneven dyeing and rough hand feel.In order to improve these issues, this article will also propose some possible solutions and technological innovation directions. These suggestions aim to promote the rational use and quality control of colored and myelinated wool fibers in textiles,in order to promote the sustainable development of the textile industry.
