Analysis of the Variation Law of Eggshell Color and Intensity in Different Egg Production Cycles
To explore and analyze the color intensity changes of Lushi green shell eggs in different egg production cycles.The 300 Lushi green shell laying hens from the same batch in a large-scale poultry farm in Nanning,Guangxi were selected as the experimental subjects,and their changes in eggshell color,thickness,and strength at different weeks of age were measured.During the entire egg laying cycle,as the age of Lushi green shell laying hens increased,the b* value of eggshell color gradually decreased and the green color gradually became lighter;The b* value of eggshell color in the early stage of egg laying was significantly higher than that in the middle and late stages of egg laying(P<0.05),while the L* value was significantly lower than that in the middle and late stages of egg laying(P<0.05);There were no significant differences(P>0.05)in the color a*value,thickness,and intensity of eggshells during different egg laying periods,such as pre laying,mid laying,and post laying.The results of this study indicate that the eggshell color of Lushi green shell laying hens in the early stages of egg laying is darker,and as the laying hens age,the eggshell color gradually decreases.This provides a theoretical reference for the improvement and cultivation of new strains of green shell laying hens in the future.
