Epidemiological Investigation of Bovine Infectious Rhinotracheitis in Large-scale Beef Farms in Chengde Area
In order to understand the prevalence of infectious rhinotracheitis(IBR)in calves,young cattle,reserve cattle,and adult cattle at different stages of large-scale beef cattle farms in Chengde area,this study collected a total of 1 127 suspected IBR samples(nasal swabs,throat swabs,and blood)from beef cattle at different stages of large-scale beef cattle farms in Chengde area from January 2023 to March 2024.PCR detection kits were used to detect IBR virus in the collected samples and analyze their infection status.The results showed that the total positive rate of IBR in 1 127 beef cattle samples collected at different stages was 14.6%.The positive rates of IBR in calves,young cattle,reserve cattle,and adult cattle were 23.7%,17.8%,8.3%,and 7.1%,respectively.Among them,the positive rates of IBR in calves and young cattle were higher than those in reserve cattle and adult cattle.IBR in cattle at different stages was mainly distributed in nasal and pharyngeal swab samples.To provide reference for the epidemiological investigation and comprehensive prevention and control of IBR in beef cattle at different stages of large-scale beef cattle farms in the region.
