Diagnosis and Treatment of Mixed Infection with Circovirus,Herpesvirus and Salmonella in Pigeons
In order to diagnose the cause of the disease in pigeons from a pigeon racing farm in the Yangtze River Delta region,we collected diseased material according to the clinical symptoms and pathological anatomy, and tested pigeon circovirus, herpesvirus, adenovirus, avian influenza virus, paramyxovirus, avian infectious bursal virus, and encephalomyelitis virus by PCR,and carried out bacterial isolation and culture to identify the disease. The results showed that the sick pigeons in this pigeon farm were positive for circovirus, herpesvirus and salmonella.Combined with the analysis of several indicators,it was confirmed that the sick pigeons were infected with a mixture of circovirus, herpesvirus and salmonella. The pigeons that did not show clinical symptoms were prevented by drinking water with Pigeon Ankang herbal extracts, and the 942 pigeons that showed clinical symptoms were treated with the long-acting traditional Chinese medicine Yizhenling injection, each pigeon was injected subcutaneously with 0.1 mL,and the medication was only used once(the concentration of effective medication in the blood was maintained in the blood for 14 days after one injection),and the deaths of 178 pigeons were stopped after 5 days of the injection with a cure rate of 81%.
