Abstract
One Hundred Red Buds Ci Poetry was written by Wu Zi in his later years in Yangzhou, with a pre-dominant theme of sorrow and nostalgia.During the late Jiaqing period in the culturally affluent Yangzhou,Wu Zi engaged in poetic exchanges with his fellow poets such as Wu Xiqi,Wang Duanguang, and Hong Wu,using A Red Bud as the tune. They collectively diffused a sense of melancholy over the decline of their era across the Yangzhou Ci poetic community. With a style similar to that of Zhexi school and the intention to ad-dress the flaws of Qian-Jia Zhejiang school, they emphasized individual emotions, authenticity, and personal expression, drawing inspiration from real life.Their efforts resulted in a new voice within the Zhejiang school that paralleled the emerging Changzhou school, reflecting the impact of the declining era on individual spirits and social politics.
