Pathogen identification and biological characteristics of potato aerial stem rot
In recent years, aerial stem rot of potato has emerged as a new bacterial disease in the main potato-producing areas in Inner Mongolia.Samples with typical symptoms were collected in the diseased area and the pathogens were isolated. The pathogenicity test, morphological study, and molecular identification were carried out.The results showed that Pectobacterium carotovorum subsp.brasilensis was the pathogen responsible for causing potato aerial stem rot.The optimal growth conditions for the pathogen were found to be a pH of 6.5,a temperature of 28 ℃,and the carbon and nitrogen sources were mannitol and ammonium sulfate, respectively. These findings will serve as a practical reference for the subsequent research on the biology and control of the disease.
