Research progress on the growth-promoting and stress-resistant effects of endophytic fungi on crops
Endophytic fungi and plants have a long-term co-evolutionary and mutually beneficial symbiotic relationship, which is of great significance for the growth and development of crops.Endophytic fungi promote the growth of host plants by synthesizing plant hormones and enhancing their absorption of nutrients. They also enhance plant resistance to biotic and abiotic stress by producing antibacterial metabolites, competing with pathogens for resources, and increasing the accumulation of secondary metabolites. This article provides a systematic review of research on endophytic fungi promoting plant growth and enhancing their stress resistance at home and abroad in recent years and discusses the challenges faced by endophytic fungi in agricultural applications, with the aim of better utilizing endophytic fungi to achieve green agricultural production.
