Dynamic monitoring of Euproctis pseudoconspersa adults in tea plantations of southern Henan Province based on sex pheromone trapping monitoring
The objective of this study was to clarify the annual occurrence of generations of Euproctis pseudoconspersa and the peak period of each generation in tea plantations in southern Henan Province,as well as to find out its occurrence pattern. To achieve this, sex pheromone traps were used to monitor the occurrence dynamics of E.pseudoconspersa in tea plantations in Xinyang City in 2019-2021 and 2023.The results showed that two generations occurred in 2019 and 2020,three incomplete generations occurred in 2021,and three generations occurred in 2023.The peak periods for the first, second, and third generations of adults were observed to be in mid-late June,mid-late August, and early November, respectively. There were significant differences in the number of adults across different years. In 2019,2020,2021,and 2023,the annual occurrence of adults was recorded, with a mean of 80.6,50.2,36.0,and 488.0 per trap, respectively. The largest number of adults was recorded in 2023,with 50.8,61.4,and 264.9 individuals per trap in the first, second, and third generations, respectively. There were significant differences in the annual occurrence of adults in various tea plantations. The annual occurrence of E.pseudoconspersa was higher in tea plantations situated in the plain than in those located in hilly areas.Additionally, the annual occurrence of E.pseudoconspersa in the Xinyangqunti variety was larger than that in the Soubei variety in most cases. In this paper, the number of annual occurrence generations, the number of adults, and the peak of each generation of E.pseudoconspersa in tea plantations in southern Henan Province are clarified, which is of great significance for accurately predicting and forecasting E.pseudoconspersa populations and for developing green control measures.
