How to improve the hardness of pure gold jewelry is one of the research direc-tions in the jewelry industry.The ribbons of pure gold were prepared by a single-roller melt-spinning,and the effect of rapid solidification on the structure and properties of pure gold strips was studied using XRD,DSC,SEM,microhardness tester.The results show that after the rapid solidification,there is still a single cubic structure with metastable phase.As the cooling rate increases,the grains gradually refine,with a minimum grain di-ameter of about 2 μm.After cooling at 22 m/s,the hardness of the gold sample has signif-icantly improved,approximately 1.6 times the hardness of the original pure gold sample(in the annealed state).However,as the cooling rate continues to increase,the hardness of the pure gold does not change significantly.
