Static and Dynamic Characteristics of Tilting Pad Hydrodynamic Gas Bearings Considering Journal Misalignment
In view of the problem of journal misalignment caused by manufacturing assembly errors and deformation under load, taking tilting pad hydrodynamic gas bearings as research objects,a static and dynamic characteristic analysis model considering journal misalignment and swing degree of freedom of pads is established to study the influence of journal misalignment on eccentricity, friction coefficient, dimensionless mass flow, stiffness coefficient and damping coefficient of the bearings under constant load. The results show that the shaft misalignment causes peak pressure of gas film to shift towards one end of the bearings, and the larger the journal misalignment angle, the more obvious the change;the change in journal misalignment direction angle will cause fluctuations in performance of the bearings.
