Safety Evaluation of Arch Bridge Suspender Breaking Based on Influence Matrix Method
The cable force of the finished bridge is analyzed to determine the critical suspender position of the arch bridge. The influence matrix method is then employed to analyze the internal force changes in the remaining suspenders and the central longitudinal beam following the rupture of a key suspender. The safety performance of the structure is studied in two aspects:the damage to the remaining suspenders and the alteration in the num-ber of longitudinal beams. Finally, the effectiveness of the research method and the significance of the critical structural parameters are verified by taking a half-through arch bridge as the background project. The results show that the influence matrix method can accurately analyze the internal force changes in the remaining suspend-ers and the central longitudinal beam following the rupture of a key suspender.Damage to the remaining suspend-ers mainly affects the safety of the remaining suspenders. When the sectional damage degree of the remaining suspenders exceeds 50%,continuous cable breakage is likely to occur. For bridge deck system exceeding 30 me-ters in width, the safety performance reserve of the central longitudinal beam after the suspender is broken can be satisfied with an arrangement consisting of two main longitudinal beams and three secondary longitudinal beams.
