Impact of Big Data-Driven Wind Power Generation on Wholesale Prices in Competitive Markets
A big data-driven technology is proposed to analyze the impact of wind power generation on wholesale electricity prices in response to the current difficulty in efficiently and intelligently processing and analyzing large amounts of data in the electricity market.By exploring the relationship between wholesale electricity prices in competitive markets and the increase in wind power penetration, useful information is provided for various producers and consumers in the electricity market.Using the electricity market in Alberta as a case study, evaluate the impact of wind power generation per 100 MWh on electricity prices based on public data from power system operators in the province. The results indicate that in general, the increase in wind power generation reduces wholesale prices in the electricity market to a certain extent, but this impact is not constant, but depends on the operating conditions of the electricity market.
