Design of Lightning Protection Insulator Structure for 35 kV Wind Power Collecting Line
A new type of lightning protection insulator structure for power transmission lines is studied and designed to address the issue of lightning damage to power collection equipment and serious impact on the normal operation of wind power generation systems. The insulator is composed of multiple components such as insulation core rod, umbrella sleeve, arc blocking ring, and divergent arc starting ring, and accurate induced overvoltage calculation has been carried out, considering a reasonable arc burning path. The results indicate that the surge voltages of the lightning protection insulators proposed in the study are relatively high at different voltage levels, namely 193.6 kV,249.3 kV and 296.8 kV,respectively. This means that the insulator can effectively resist lightning strikes and maintain its function.
