Implementation of Virtual I/O Module in Ethernet Communication Interface Module of DCS
In order to reduce the repeated development of hardware modules,on the basis of retaining the original DCS software and hardware system architecture, different I/O modules are virtualized on the hardware of the ethernet communication interface modules. The virtual I/O module and the hard point I/O module have the same input, output, and parameter attributes, and the configuration mode and product format are the same.Different virtual I/O modules, such as Modbus TCP virtual I/O modules and GOOSE virtual I/O modules, can be configured on different virtual I/O slots on the same ethernet communication module,so as to implement different communication functions on the same hardware. The use of virtual I/O modules,on the one hand, reduces the types of hardware modules of the DCS system and simplifies spare parts. On the other hand,it also improves the flexibility and convenience of communication expansion.
