Design and Implementation Path Study of Automatic Material Handling System in Steel Plants
A grid based modeling method and an improved A*algorithm are proposed to optimize the automatic scheduling of overhead cranes in steel plants,in response to the inefficiency and safety risks of traditional manual operations.By dividing the homework area into multiple small grid units, this method can accurately perform path planning. The improved A*algorithm not only considers path length and obstacle avoidance, but also takes into account the cost differences of different crane movement methods, calculating the minimum total cost for material transportation such as slabs while ensuring path safety and feasibility. The implementation of this automated scheduling method can significantly improve the efficiency and safety of material handling, reduce errors and risks in manual operations, and make important contributions to the modernization and automation development of the steel industry.
