Study on Insulation Loss Characteristics of Stainless Steel Bellows for Superconducting Cables in Low Temperature Environment
To investigate the insulation loss characteristics of stainless steel bellows used in superconducting cables in low-temperature environments and evaluate their performance under extreme temperature conditions,a series of experiments were conducted under different temperature and current conditions. The electrical performance of stainless steel bellows was analyzed by measuring capacitance and resistance values, and their hysteresis losses were studied.Through experimental verification, stainless steel corrugated pipes have good electrical insulation performance in low temperature environments. As the temperature decreases, the insulation loss gradually decreases, indicating that their performance is more reliable at extremely low temperatures. At the same time, with the increase of current, the insulation loss slightly increases, but the amplitude is small, indicating that they have a certain resistance to losses caused by current. In addition, their magnetic hysteresis loss is low, which helps to maintain the efficient performance of cables.
