Priority Compensation Strategy for Negative Sequence and Zero Sequence Currents of STATCOM Based on Improved Instantaneous Symmetrical Component Method
In order to improve the utilization of load compensation by three-phase four wire power system static synchronous compensator(STATCOM),this paper based on the improved instantaneous symmetrical component method proposed a negative and zero sequence current preferred compensation strategy for STATCOM.This strategy decomposes system parameters into positive sequence, negative sequence, and zero sequence networks to obtain real-time positive sequence, negative sequence, and zero sequence components.Utilize control of negative sequence current and zero sequence current to compensate for the negative sequence and zero sequence components generated by three-phase load asymmetry.Utilize the control of positive sequence current to compensate for the harmonic and reactive components generated by system fluctuations. When the compensation capacity of STATCOM is insufficient, priority should be given to compensating for negative sequence current and zero sequence current, and reactive current should be compensated as much as possible. The simulation results show that the proposed compensation method can make the STATCOM accurately and dynamically compensate the negative and zero sequence component of unbalanced three-phase load in distribution network.
