The spiral drum is an important structural component in the coal mining machine,and optimizing and improving this structure can enhance the overall performance of the coal mining machine.On the basis of an overview of the MG2×80/380-WD coal mining machine,the shortcomings of the spiral drum in practice were analyzed.Four evenly distributed cutting teeth were set at the end of the drum,and EDEM software was used to simulate and analyze the new structure.It was found that the key performance indicators were improved to varying degrees.Applying the new structure to engineering practice,it was found that its overall operation is stable,and its expected service life can be extended by 37.93%.
