Research on the design of fault location algorithm for distribution network based on cone planning
Distribution network fault localisation is the key to ensure stable operation. For this reason, the study proposes a fault location algorithm based on cone planning.Firstly, the feasibility of Clark's current difference as a fault criterion is verified;then, the zone correlation matrix and Clark's current-measurement correlation matrix are constructed, and the cone-planning model is fur-ther optimised to address its deficiencies.Simulation analyses using a radial single-supply model and an IEEE33 node system show that the algorithm is capable of detecting all fault types. The study achieved accurate localisation in all 12 different fault group tests. After three fault tests, the accuracy of the proposed algorithm is 95%on average, which is significantly better than other algorithms. In terms of time consumption, although the IELM algorithm is slightly better, the difference between the two is tiny, both within 0.5 seconds, and the proposed algorithm of the study can be found to be efficient and accurate.
