A Review of IR-UWB Radar-Based Non-Contact Medical Health Monitoring Technology
Vital signal monitoring plays an important role in medical diagnosis, and non-contact medical health monitoring sys-tem solves the problem of user compliance, avoids the discomfort caused by wearing electrodes and sensing devices for monitoring, and is more helpful to integrate health monitoring into daily life.Impulse Radio Ultra Wide Band(IR-UWB)radar is suitable for non-contact vital signals detection due to its unique characteristics such as high penetration capability, extremely accurate ranging, low power requirement, low cost, simple hardware and robustness to multipath interference. For this reason this paper systematically sur-veys the literature on IR-UWB for non-contact vital detection, summarizes the current research status of five parts:human vital sign detection, sleep detection, neonatal vital sign detection, penetrating vital sign detection, and other medical related applications, and finally summarizes its challenges and development trends.
