Research on the Translation of Journal Article Titles from Chinese to Mongolian Under a Cross-Cultural Perspective:A Case Study of Inner Mongolia Pictorial
The title of an article serves as its face and constitutes an important and relatively independent part of the overall quality of a journal,as well as a bridge connecting the article and its readers.Under a cross-cultural backdrop, how to ac-curately translate titles into the target language while maintaining the original meaning without losing aesthetic appeal and fluency has become a significant issue. This paper combines principles and techniques of translation to explore how bilingual journals can effectively translate titles in a cross-cultural context.Through an analysis of the practice cases from Inner Mongolia Pictorial magazine over the past year,we found that title translation requires consideration of multiple factors,in-cluding linguistic differences, cultural backgrounds, and audience needs.A thorough exploration of this issue not only better meets the needs of different audiences and enhances the journal's dissemination and influence, but also helps in the inherit-ance and development of the regional cultural characteristics of"Northern Border Culture."It is of great significance for es-tablishing a correct historical perspective of the Chinese nation and consolidating the cultural centripetal force for ethnic uni-ty and progress.
