Objective To understand HIV infection situation and its influencing factors in people receiving voluntary counseling and testing (VCT) service in Lucheng district of Wenzhou,to provide the evidence for the development of local HIV control and prevention measures.Methods A questionnaire was performed in persons attending VCT clinic of Lucheng CDC from 2010 to 2013.Data of social demographic characteristics and risk behaviors were collected and blood was collected for HIV testing.Results Among the 7463 persons receiving VCT service,223 were positive for HIV(3.0%).There were 4820 males (64.6%),3290 married attendants (44.0%) and 3924 (52.6 %) unmarried attendants,with a average age of 29.13 ± 8.24 years.Univariate analysis showed that gender,marriage,education level,source of attendants,the reasons of attending,previous HIV testing and testing year were associated with HIV infection.Multivariate logistic regression showed that males,the divorced and widowed,education level,active and referral consultation,the reason of attending and the investigated time were associated with HIV infection.Conclusion VCT is an effective way to find HIV infectors and to prevent HIV infection.It should be better to strengthen propaganda of HIV treatment and intervention of HIV transmission in high-risk population,expand VCT coverage,and promote the VCT work with varieties of ways.
