HIV-1 recombinant CRF01_AE and their impact on global AIDS pandemic
As the most prevalent recombinants of HIV-1 globally,CRF01AE plays an increasingly prominent role in HIV-1 long-time viral evolution with regional variation and distinct global distributions and transmissions.This review provides an update on origin,viral variation,epidemiology,impacts on disease progression,timely accessibility of healthcare services,and treatment pertinent to CRF01_AE.Noticeably,ongoing CRF01_AE recombination necessitates continued and improved surveillance of HIV-1 molecular epidemiology,which is crucial to curbing the regional HIV-1 transmission and achieving the global"End AIDS"target.
