Research progress of behavioral interventions promoting the use of HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis among men who have sex with men in China
HIV infection among men who have sex with men(MSM)is a serious issue.Pre-exposure prophylaxis(PrEP)is a new biological HIV prevention measure that has been proven to be effectively reduce the risk of HIV infection in high-risk populations.Multiple studies in several countries have confirmed its safety and effectiveness.However,PrEP has not been widely promoted in China,resulting in a relatively low overall utilization rate of PrEP among MSM.Furthermore,the efficacy of PrEP is highly dependent on medication compliance.Currently,interventions aimed at promoting the use and compliance of PrEP in China lack systematic and theoretical guidance.It is imperative to further investigate and implement localized and targeted behavioral intervention strategies,to control the spread of HIV among MSM in China.This study reviews research on promoting PrEP use and medication compliance,and proposes countermeasures to promote PrEP implementation among MSM based on relevant research evidence.The aim is provide a basis for promoting PrEP among MSM in China.
