Investigating the medication rules of traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of HIV-infected immunological non-responders:A data mining approach
Objective To comprehensively summarize the medication rules of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)for the treatment of immunological non-responders through data mining, and to systematically analyze the core medicines. Methods A literature review was conducted using both Chinese and English databases, including China National Knowledge Internet(CNKI),Wanfang Data Knowledge Service Platform,VIP Chinese Journal Service Platform,PubMed,and Cochrane Library,to collect relevant literature on TCM treatment for immunological non-responders.According to strict inclusion and exclusion criteria, the collected literatures were screened and recorded, and medication names were standardized.Frequency distribution analysis, analysis of the meridian tropism with properties, and tastes, association rules analysis, and cluster analysis were employed to comprehensively analyze the data. Results A total of 26 relevant literatures were included, and 54 Chinese herbs were identified. The most frequently used TCM herbs were Astragalus,Atractylodes,Codonopsis,Reishi,Schisandra,Poria,Licorice,Panax ginseng,Goji berries, and Semen Cuscutae, with a total medication use frequency of 150.The majority of high-frequency medications exhibited a sweet and neutral nature, primarily targeting the Lung,Spleen, and Kidney meridians.Association rule analysis revealed that Astragalus,Atractylodes, and Codonopsis were the core medications. And Astragalus exhibited a strong association with Atractylodes,Codonopsis,Poria, and Goji berries. After clustering analysis, three potential core formulas were obtained:Cl:Panax ginseng,Poria,Atractylodes,Licorice;C2:Goji berries,Semen Cuscutae,Schisandra;C3:Codonopsis,Reishi,Astragalus.Conclusions TCM treatment for immunological non-responders primarily relies on sweet and neutral medications. The therapy of tonifying the lungs and spleen, and warming the kidney-yang can promote immune reconstitution.
