The expression of IL-23,TGF-β1,TNF-,and CD4/CD8 cell ratio in patients with condyloma acuminatum and its influencing factors on recurrence
Objective To investigate the expression of interleukin-23(IL-23),transforming growth factor β1(TGF-β1),tumor necrosis factor α(TNF-α),and CD4/CD8 cell ratio in patients with condyloma acuminatum,and to analyze factors influencing recurrence.Methods Patients with condyloma acuminatum diagnosed and treated in Chengdu Second People's Hospital from August 2020 to July 2022,as well as individuals who underwent physical examinations during the same period,were selected as study subjects.The expressions of IL-23,TGF-β1,TNF-α,and CD4/CD8 cell ratio were compared.A multivariate logistic regression model was used to analyze the factors associated with the recurrence of condyloma acuminatum.The ROC curve model was used to analyze the AUC value,sensitivity,and specificity of IL-23,TGF-β1,TNF-α and CD4/CD8 ratio in predicting the recurrence of condyloma acuminatum.Results Eighty-six patients with condyloma acuminatum were selected as the observation group,and 43 individuals undergoing physical examination were selected as the control group.Patients in the observation group were further divided into a recurrence group(n=37)and a non-recurrence group(n=49)according to whether they experienced a recurrence after treatment.There was no significant statistical difference in general data between the observation group and the control group(P>0.05).The levels of IL-23 and CD4/CD8 cell ratio were lower in the observation group than in the control group,TGF-β1,and TNF-α were higher in the observation group than in the control group(P<0.05).The levels of IL-23,CD4/CD8 cell ratio were lower in the recurrent group than in the non-recurrent group,while the proportion of high-risk or mixed HPV infection types,while TGF-β1,TNF-α were higher in the recurrent group than in the non-recurrent group(P<0.05).Logistic regression analysis showed a decrease in IL-23,CD4/CD8 cell ratio,an increase in TGF-β1 and TNF-α,and high-risk or mixed HPV infection could influence the recurrence of condyloma acuminatum(P<0.05).ROC curve analysis showed that the AUC values for predicting the recurrence of condyloma acuminatum for IL-23,TGF-β1,TNF-α,and CD4/CD8 cell ratio were 0.631,0.849,0.876,and 0.779,respectively(P<0.05),with sensitivities of 51.40%,83.80%,64.90%,92.40%,and specificities of 79.60%,83.70%,89.80%,and 37.30%,respectively.Conclusions Abnormal expression trends of IL-23,TGF-β1,TNF-α,and CD4/CD8 cell ratio are present in patients with condyloma acuminatum,and the expression of these laboratory indicators,as well as the type of HPV infection,may influence the recurrence of condyloma acuminatum.
