Disease syndrome correlation between HIV/AIDS patients and HIV/AIDS patients with damp-heat intrinsic syndrome based on complement system
Objective To investigate the expression characteristics of complement system related factors in HIV/AIDS patients and their association with the damp-heat intrinsic syndrome of HIV/AIDS.Methods HIV/AIDS patients(HIV group)who were admitted to a hospital in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region from March to May 2023 were included, including the HIV/AIDS patients with damp-heat intrinsic syndrome group(HIVsr group),the HIV/AIDS patients without identifiable syndromes group(HIVwz group),and the healthy control group who underwent outpatient physical examinations.Baseline information and anticoagulant blood samples were collected. The number of T cell subsets was detected by flow cytometry, and the plasma expression levels of complement-related factors were determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).Data were statistically analyzed. Results A totally of 45 cases were included in the HIV group, with 30 cases in the HIVsr group,15 cases in the HIVwz group, and 15 cases in the healthy control group. The immunological indicator of helper T cell/suppressor T cell(TH/TS)expression showed a decrease in the HIVsr group compared to the healthy control group(P<0.05).Compared with the healthy control group, the expression levels of 12 factors including C1q,MASP2 and MBL were decreased in HIV group(P<0.05),except for factors C3,C5aR,and C5b.The HIVsr group showed significantly lower expression of C1q,C5aR,IL-6,and TNF-α compared to the HIVwz group(P<0.05).C3aR in the HIVsr group was negatively correlated with the score of Damp-Heat Intrinsic Syndrome(r=-0.613,P<0.05).Multiple linear regression analysis indicated that C3aR was an influencing factor for the scale score. Conclusions Classical and lectin pathways in the complement system are related to the pathological process of HIV/AIDS,and the biological basis of the damp-heat intrinsic syndrome in HIV/AIDS patients is associated with the classical pathway.C3aR has some differential diagnostic value for HIV/AIDS patients with Damp-Heat Intrinsic Syndrome.
