Hepatitis C testing results among HIV key populations in Yunnan Province
Objective To understand the prevalence of hepatitis C virus(HCV)among the seven key populations of HIV/AIDS in Yunnan Province, and to evaluate the HCV testing strategies in order to provide evidence for further development and optimization of prevention and control measures. Methods The HCV testing reports of the seven key populations of HIV/AIDS in Yunnan Province in 2023 were collected and summarized, together with the Annual Report on Comprehensive Prevention and Control of Hepatitis C in 2023.The antibody positivity rate and nucleic acid positivity rate were analyzed among different populations and in different regions. Results From January to December 2023,a total of 240 190 individuals were tested for HCV antibodies among the seven key HIV/AIDS populations in Yunnan Province. The antibody positivity rate was 5.48%(13 151/240 190),and the nucleic acid positivity rate was 62.96%(4 731/7 514).Among the different populations, the antibody positivity rates of community-based drug maintenance outpatients,compulsory/re-education drug users,HIV-infected individuals, detainees, spouses or sexual partners of HIV-infected individuals, sex workers, and men who have sex with men(MSM)were 19.50%,12.25%,9.54%,2.25%,1.19%,0.35%,and 0.25%,respectively.Conclusions The antibody and nucleic acid positivity rates of HCV among the seven key populations of HIV/AIDS in Yunnan Province are relatively high.It is recommended to further promote strategies such as"multiple disease co-testing,multiple disease co-prevention"based on the HIV/AIDS prevention and control mechanism and platform,in order to improve the detection rate and the rate of antiviral treatment for HCV.
