Spatiotemporal distribution analysis of recent HIV infections in Dehong Prefecture,Yunnan Province, from 2017 to 2022
Objective To analyze spatiotemporal distribution characteristics of recent HIV infections in Dehong Dai and Jingpo Autonomous Prefecture(Dehong Prefecture),Yunnan Province, from 2017 to 2022,aiming to understand the spatiotemporal trends of recent HIV infection risks in this region. Methods A Bayesian hierarchical model was applied for spatiotemporal analysis, and data visualization was conducted using ArcGIS software. Results Among all newly reported HIV infections in Dehong Prefecture between 2017 and 2022,the number of recent HIV infections identified through limited antigen avidity enzyme immunoassay was 47,59,56,52,37,and 33 cases, respectively.Spatiotemporal analysis of the geographic distribution of recent HIV infections revealed that the overall temporal trend in the risk of recent HIV infection decreased from 1.18 in 2017 to 0.74 in 2022.There was substantial spatial heterogeneity in the distribution of recent HIV infection risk in Dehong Prefecture, with hotspots mainly located in the southwestern region, near the China-Myanmar border. In particular, areas such as Yingjiang County and Longchuan County, bordering Myanmar, exhibited higher risks of recent HIV infection. Conclusions The overall risk of recent HIV infections in Dehong Prefecture showed a declining trend from 2017 to 2022.However,attention should be paid to HIV prevention and control efforts in the China-Myanmar border areas within Dehong Prefecture.
