Family resilience and related factors of HIV/AIDS patients of Yi ethnic group in Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture
Objective To examine the current state of family resilience among HIV/AIDS patients in the Yi ethnic group in Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture and identify the factors influencing it,thereby providing a basis for developing targeted family intervention strategies. Methods A convenience sampling method was employed to select 232 patients with HIV/AIDS from the Yi ethnic group undergoing antiretroviral therapy in a county of Liangshan between November 2023 and March 2024.Data were collected using a general information questionnaire,Family Resilience Scale for HIV/AIDS Patients, the General Self-Efficacy Scale(GSES),Social Support Rating Scale(SSRS),and Family family APGAR index(APGAR).Data were analyzed using r-tests,analysis of variance,Pearson's correlation, and multiple linear regression. Results The average family resilience score was 40.10±5.70,the general self-efficacy score was 21.75±5.42,the social support score was 99.35±9.11,and the family APGAR score was 4.38±1.23.Pearson's correlation analysis indicated positive correlations between family resilience,self-efficacy,social support, and family APGAR(r=0.449,0.735,0.612;P<0.001).Multiple linear regression analysis revealed that social support, family APGAR,occupation, antiretroviral therapy duration, family type, and monthly household income were significant factors influencing family resilience(P<0.05).Conclusions The family resilience levels of patients with HIV/AIDS in the Yi ethnic group were moderate.Special attention should be paid to families with low income, unemployed members, alternative family structures, and shorter durations of combined antiretroviral therapy.Enhancing social support, family cohesion, and household income could improve family resilience among patients with HIV/AIDS in the Yi ethnic group.
