Objective:To observe the efficacy and safety of sequential therapy of combined calcipotriol cream with Desonide cream in the treatment of plaque type psoriasis.Methods:96 patients with the treatment of plaque type psoriasis were randomly divided into three groups:group A were treated with calcipotriol cream twicedaily, group B were treated with Desonide cream twicedaily,group C were sequentially treated with calcipotriol cream followed by Desonide cream . The PASI scores were evaluated at the week 2,4,and 6 after the initialtion of the treatment.The safety of the treatment Was evaluated, too.Results:The effective rates in group A at the week 2,4,6 were 26.67%,56.67%and 70.00% respectively,The effective rates in group B were 36.67%,66.67%and76.67%respectively;The effective rates in group C were 53.33%,73.33%and 83.33%rectively;The total effective rate for desonide group and combination group was 76.67% and 83.33%.and it was higher than the rate for calcipotriol group(P<0.05),but there was not any statistically significant difference between the former two groups.The incidence of adverse reactions in group C was less than that in group A and B(P<0.01).Conclusions:The therapeutic effect of desonide Was better than that of calcipotriol applied for plaque psoriasis. There are advantages of the sequential therapy with calcipotriol cream followed by Desonide cream in the treatment of psoriasis:rapid and good response,as well as less adverse reactions.
