Objective:To compare the clinical efficacy of oral ondansetron and domperidone symptomatic treatment of children with acute gastroenteritis and vomiting. Methods:80 cases of children acute gastroenteritis and vomiting patients recently admitted in our hospital were chosen and divided into control group and observation group, 40 cases in each group. The patients in control group accepted domperidone based on common therapy for vomiting therapy, while the patients in the observation group accepted ondansetron for vomiting therapy. The efficacy of the two groups was analyzed. Results:The total efficiency of the observation group is 92.5%, which is significantly better than 77.5%in the control group (P<0.05). Moreover, neither of the patients in the two groups had adverse reaction. Conclusion: Oral ondansetron used for the treatment of children with acute gastroenteritis and vomiting is safer and effective, and efficacy is better compared to domperidone therapy.
