Objective:To evaluate the feasibility of liposuction plus axil ary smal incision surgery in treating accessory breast. Methods:From January 2009 to December 2011 a total of 256 accessory breasts of 148 female patients were treated in our department. Their age ranged 23 to 48years.Forty patients had unilateral accessory breast and 108 bilateral. Tumesent anAfter tumescent anesthesia injected iesthesia was injected at the subcutaneous fat layer in axil ary surgery area, negative pressure aspiration was performed to suck out the adipose tssue and accessory breast tissue, then the residual accessory breast tissue was removed through a 2 cm smal incision which was made at the axil a. Results:Two hundred and fifty-six accessory breasts of 148 patients were successful y treated with the liposuction plus axil ary smal incision surgery method. The patients were fol owed up for 6-12 months. Good outcome was achieved. Al patients had fast healing, with smal scar and good appearance. No infection, hydrops, bleeding or wound fracture occurred. Only one patient had slight numb in the upper extremity of the affected side, but recovered automatical y about six months later. Conclusion: The method of liposuction plush axil ary smal incision surgery in treating accessory breast is feasible. It is safe and has advantages of easy operation, , minimal y invasive, less bleeding, less complications, fast recovery and good appearance.
