Objective: To observe the clinical effects of amiodarone in treating elderly patients with ventricular arrhythmia.METHODS: A retrospective analysis of clinical data was conducted in 96 patients with ventricular arrhythmia who were admit ed in our hospital from January 2012 to January 2013, and they were randomly divided into treatment group and control group, each group contained 48 cases.The treatment group were treated with amiodarone, the control group were treated with propafenone.The curative effects were compared between the two groups after 2-months treatment.RESULTS: After treatment,the total effective rate in the treatment group was 95.83%, the total effective rate in the control group was 81.25%,it significantly higher than control group(P<0.05). And without severe untoward reaction occurred.CONCLUSION:Amiodarone was proved to be a safe and effective therapy for elderly patients with ventricular arrhythmia and worthy of clinical use.
