Analysis of the Combined Effect of Chinese Medicine and Western Medicine on Preterm Infants with Parenteral Nutrition Associated Cholestasis
To investigate the combined treatment effect of the traditional Chinese and Western medicine on parenteral nutrition associated cholestasis ( PNAC ). Methods: Retrospective analysis the 37 cases of very low birth weight infants with PNAC in our hospital from Jan 2005 to Dec 2012 .They were randomly divided into the treatment group of 19 cases, control group of 18 cases; treatment group were treated with traditional Chinese and Western medicine: Yinzhihuang 1.5g PO, twice a day , Ursodeoxycholic acid 20-30mg/ kg.d, administered in twice. At the same time massage abdomen by professional nurses twice a day , 15 minutes each time, which is done by their mothers afterdischarge. if they have no defecation in more than 48 hours, they were given warm saline enema catharsis. Control group: Ursodeoxycholic acid 20-30mg/kg.d, administered in twice. if necessary, warm saline enema catharsis was applied.Results: with 10 days, 20 days of treatment, total bilirubin ( TBIL ), direct bilirubin ( DBIL ), bile acid ( TBA ) of treatment group decrease more significant than the control group ( P < 0.05 ); no significant difference of liver and kidney function between the two groups, and both groups had no obvious adverse reactions. Conclusion: the combined effect of traditional Chinese and Western medicine on PNAC is beter than that of Western medicine only .
