《中华教育界》是中华书局史上的第一种杂志.围绕该教育杂志之创刊时间,在中华书局史讲述、中国出版史回顾、中国教育史研究中,主要可见1912年1月25日和1912年3月25日两种记录.基于对中国国家图书馆藏本等多种创刊号的查证、民国元年中华书局活动史的梳理、杂志首卷所载文章与广告信息的疏通,可证《中华教育界》的创刊时间为1912年1月25日.
Abstract
Chung Hwa Educational Review was the first magazine published by Zhonghua Book Company.There has been some debate regarding the exact date of its inaugural issue,with records on the history of Zhonghua Book Company,Chinese publishing history and Chinese education history typically citing either January 25,1912,or March 25,1912.By verifying four original issues,including those collected by the National Library of China,summarizing the activ-ities of Zhonghua Book Company in the first year of the Republic of China,and analyzing the arti-cles and advertisements in the magazine's first volume,it can be confirmed that Chung Hwa Edu-cational Review was first published on January 25,1912.
