孙毓修《中国雕板源流考》一书,是讨论版刻印书诸方面的简明印刷史著述.虽然今人对该书的体系及资料完备程度颇有微词,但它在中国雕版印刷史研究上的开创之功毋庸置疑.今人对印刷史各方面的讨论,仍不出其所列之大纲,只是在史料与实物上取得新的突破.中华书局版《中国雕板源流考汇刊》,是不同版本《中国雕板源流考》的汇编整理之作,其价值是挖掘了该书的稿本与连载本,让原本孤立、平面的《中国雕板源流考》一书,本身就成了书籍流变的考察对象.不过在三种不同版本的产生时间及编排前后的问题上,笔者与整理者有不同的看法.此外作为整理本,少量校勘仍有值得商榷的地方,一并提出,以就教方家.
Abstract
Sun Yuxiu's book,The Origin and Development of Chinese Woodblock Printing is a concise history of printing that discusses various aspects of woodblock printing.Although there are some contemporary criticisms regarding the structure and the completeness of the materials in the book,its pioneering role in the study of Chinese woodblock printing history is undeniable.Today's discussions on various aspects of printing history continue to follow the outline established by Sun,albeit with new breakthroughs in historical materials and physical artifacts.The Zhong-hua Book Company's edition of The Compilation of"The Origin and Development of Chinese Wood-block Printing"is a consolidation of different versions of Sun's work.Its value lies in the uncove-ring of the manuscript and serialized versions,thus transforming the previously isolated and static work into a subject for studying the evolution of the book texts.However,this review holds differ-ent views from the editor regarding the dates of the production of the three different versions and their sequential arrangement.In addition,as a collation,there are still minor textual research is-sues worth discussing,which will be raised in this review for consideration.
