The Analysis of Epidemiological Characteristics of Mumps in Changping District of Beijing from 2017 to 2023
OBJECTIVE To grasp the epidemiological characteristics of mumps in Changping District, and provide the basis for scientific prevention and control of mumps.METHODS The basic information, clinical symptoms and vaccination information of reported cases of measles in Changping District from 2017 to 2023 were collected. It was used for statistical analysis by descriptive epidemiological analysis, seasonal index method,χ2 test and logistic regression analysis.RESULTS From 2017 to 2023,1 158 cases with an average annual incidence of 7.65/105 were reported in Changping District. The seasonal index from April to September was more than 100.00%,and it reached two highs in September(145.03%)and May(138.82%).Among the 22 towns and streets, the number of reported cases and incidence rate(249 cases,16.53/105)in Huilongguan town ranked first in the whole region. The least cases were reported in Yanshou Town(1 case),and the lowest incidence was reported in Longzeyuan Sub-district office(0.25/105).The sex ratio of the cases was 1.33∶1,and the incidence of the cases was 8.11/100 000 and 7.11/105.The age of onset was concentrated in 3~6 years old, with a total of 435 cases(37.57%).A total of 936 cases(80.83%)were reported among children in early childhood care, students and scattered children. The main clinical symptoms were parotid gland enlargement(98.36%)and pain(79.62%).Among the cases,884(76.34%)had a history of vaccination. The higher the dose of vaccine, the less the site of parotid gland enlargement(β=-0.293),and the lower the probability of fever(β=-0.279)and headache(β=-0.568).CONCLUSION The incidence of MMR is low in Changping District of Beijing, and the reporting time is double-peak distribution.Schools, kindergartens and towns with floating population gathering are still the focus of the prevention and control of MMR.Vaccination against mumps reduces the likelihood of parotid gland enlargement, fever and headache.
