Epidemiological and Etiological Characteristics of Hand-foot-mouth Disease in Laoshan District of Qingdao from 2014 to 2023
OBJECTIVE To analyze the epidemiological and etiological characteristics of hand-foot-mouth disease(HFMD)in Laoshan District of Qingdao from 2014 to 2023,so as to provide the reference for HFMD effective prevention and control.METHODS Data of HFMD in Laoshan District from 2014 to 2023 were collected.SPSS 25.0 was used for statistical analysis.RESULTS A total of 5 318 HFMD cases were reported in Laoshan District from 2014 to 2023.An average annual reported incidence was 113.69/105.The rate of severe disease was 1.62%and there were no fatal cases.The HFMD cases were mainly concentrated in summer and autumn.The peak time of incidence moved back in recent years.The sex ratio was 1.50∶1,mainly for children under five years old.The occupational composition was dominated by scattered children and preschool children.The proportion of students had increased in recent years.The affected population was mainly concentrated in the central urban area.The dominant pathogen of HFMD was constantly changing.The proportion of EV71 and CoxA16 decreased,and the proportion of other enteroviruses increased.CONCLUSION The incidence of HFMD in Laoshan District is still high,and the dominant strains have changed in recent years.Many measures should be implemented,such as vaccination,health education,surveillance and early warning,pathogen surveillance and so on,to prevent and control HFMD accurately.
