Monitoring and Analysis of Tobacco Epidemic in Health Literacy of Residents in Yishui County from 2021 to 2023
OBJECTIVE By analyzing the tobacco epidemic monitoring data in the health literacy of residents in Yishui County from 2021 to 2023,to understand the smoking situation,second-hand smoke exposure,and tobacco related knowledge and attitudes of residents in Yishui County,scientifically evaluate the prevalence of tobacco and the effectiveness of tobacco control,and provide data support for relevant departments to formulate relevant policy measures.METHODS By stratified multi-stage random sampling method and a tobacco epidemic monitoring survey questionnaire to survey permanent residents aged 15~69 in Yishui County from 2021 to 2023,and then conducted a logistic multivariate analysis on statistically significant indicators.RESULTS The smoking rate of residents aged 15~69 in Yishui County from 2021 to 2023 was 21.45%,with an average decrease of 13.27%.There were statistically significant differences in the total smoking rate,region,gender,age,education level,and exposure to second-hand smoke over the past three years(χ2=20.927,5.196,680.576,33.932,40.141,9.519,P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the awareness rate of smoking addiction except"smoking addiction is a disease"(P>0.05).There was a statistically significant difference in understanding of the four related diseases caused by smoking and secondhand smoke,as well as the survey on six cognitive factors over the past three years(χ2=7.124,28.307,82.088,7..901,30.044,6.438,11.667,36.044,6.438,11.667,6.997,27.898,14.956,P<0.05).CONCLUSION The smoking rate and exposure rate to second-hand smoke among residents in Yishui County are showing a downward trend,while the awareness rate of smoking and related factors caused by second-hand smoke among residents is on the rise.However,there is still a considerable gap with the smoking control goal of"Healthy China 2030".A long-term mechanism for smoking control should be established through multiple channels to change the smoking habits of residents.
