Research on rock-throwing test method of the suspended submarine cable
Due to factors such as ocean scour and seabed geological activities, certain sections of submarine cables may become exposed or suspended, and the stone-throwing landfill method is a widely employed remediation technique for addressing this issue. However, during the stone-throwing process, submarine cables are highly susceptible to impact, resulting in varying degrees of damage and destruction. To evaluate the stress and surface damage of submarine cables, this study investigates the methodology of suspended submarine cable stone-throwing tests.A prototype stone-throwing test platform was constructed, employing various measurement techniques such as strain gauges and force sensors to assess both local and overall stress conditions of suspended submarine cables. The influence of parameters, including stone size and stone-throwing height,on the response characteristics of submarine cables was analyzed under different test conditions. The results indicate that the extreme tension experienced by submarine cables is linearly related to the size of the stone particles and the height of stone-throwing,and the surface damage of submarine cables is almost unaffected by both factors. This article provides certain guidance value for the practical use of the submarine cable stone-throwing landfill method.
