Residual stress detection and characteristic analysis of LNG membrane panel based on X-ray
This paper aims to utilize X-ray diffraction(XRD)method to investigate the residual stress in MARK III type LNG(Liquefied Natural Gas)membrane panels.A residual stress analyzer was employed to examine the residual stress distribution and characteristics of the membrane panels.Sixteen measurement points were arranged to analyze the residual stress in different directions and areas. The nodes are under compression and the maximum compressive stress can reach 178 MPa;the flat surface regions exhibit compressive stress, while the peaks of the large and small corrugations experience tensile stress, the maximum tensile stress is 115 MPa.The findings of this research provide valuable guidance for the utilization, design, and maintenance of LNG membrane panels, reducing the risk of structural failure and enhancing stability and reliability. These discoveries offer beneficial insights for future engineering practices, offering crucial support for further optimization and application of LNG membrane panels.
