Analysis of hand hygiene compliance and influencing factors of CVC nurses
Objective To explore the hand hygiene compliance and influencing factors of caregivers for central venous catheter(CVC)placement in the intensive care unit(ICU),in order to provide reference for preventing CVC infection.Methods A total of 45 nursing staff with CVC catheterization in the ICU of Gaotang County People's Hospital from May 2019 to December 2020 were selected as the research subjects.A questionnaire survey was conducted to understand the hand hygiene compliance of nursing staff and analyze the relevant factors affecting their hand hygiene compliance.Results There were no statistically significant difference in hand hygiene compliance scores between age and educational background(P>0.05);the differences in hand hygiene compliance scores between professional titles and years of CVC operation were statistically significant(P<0.05).There were many factors that affected hand hygiene compliance,with the top five being forgetting to wash hands,accounting for 88.89%,lacking awareness of hand washing and hand disinfection,accounting for 84.44%,believing that wearing gloves can replace hand washing,accounting for 77.78%,believing that hand hygiene is not closely related to CVC infection,accounting for 66.67%,and management not valuing hand washing,accounting for 62.22%.Conclusion There were significant differences in hand hygiene compliance scores among CVC catheterization nursing staff with different professional titles and years of CVC operation.Forgetting to wash hands and lacking awareness of hand washing and hand disinfection were the main factors affecting their compliance.Therefore,it was urgent to carry out relevant vocational training,strengthen the hand hygiene concept of CVC catheterization nursing staff,improve hand hygiene compliance,and reduce the incidence of CVC infection.
